Here i'm drilling the pilot holes for the screws on the front. I will drill more holes as I go along.

Back outside!

I'm applying white PVA which is water resistant to the back edge of the side piece.

I'm screwing the back to the back edged of the side.

I'm using 38mm (1 1/2") Chipboard screws. These are coated with some wonderful chemical or something that makes them gold, and waterproof.

Here you can see the 2 sides fixed to the back.
Now to fix the front on! With more glue and 4 screws.

Now its time to affix the roof. All of the angles we cut are paying off at this point. More glue and screws. Use plenty for the top, we want a water tight seal ideally.

I'm using the fantastic Metabo Power grip screwdriver to do this!

All of this work. It's a lovely day, so I sat down and had a cup of coffee.
After fixing the bottom on. Here is our finished bird box, with all the daisy's. Now to hang it!

I picked a nice tree, in the little wooded area in our garden. It's about 2.5m up, and faces NORTH - important so i'm told! I'm using a ladder, if this tree was bigger it might be fun to climb it!

For safety I clamped it to the tree while I used some attractive bright blue wire to attach it. I advice that you don't screw or nail it to the tree. That's just nasty!

Well here it is. In all of it's glory. I feel it blends in well and hopefully it will be getting some visitors some time soon!..
