Router bit box - Part 2

Here I am at the drill-press and we are making 7 1/2" holes to accept my new router cutters.

This block of pine will be glued inside the box we have formed. The holes are drilled right through the timber, and the existing base will stop the bits. So 18mm of "pure holding power"

I have marked out a center-line and also 7 points where my bits will go.

TIP: Make sure your bits will not clash, make your you space out the holes to avoid this.

I have cut a bit of plywood to size on the band saw. You may need to relieve the edges slightly to allow this to glide easily in the slots we cut. As sometimes the splinters can catch otherwise.

I am using a forestner drill bit to create a nice hole for me to open the lid with easily. Again, its suggestible to ease the edges with some sandpaper to prevent any abrasions of the users skin

Here you can see the router bits in the box. Perfect huh?

I'm applying my favorite "Organoil" to the piece. This just makes it look a whole lot better!

Oh, and it smells like strong flowers too!
